What AiType adds to iPhone
The built-in iOS keyboard is good, but it doesn't clean up your speech. Apple's dictation key gives you verbatim transcription — useful, but you still have to correct it. AiType's keyboard adds:

Step-by-step setup
Install AiType from the App Store
Search "AiType" on the App Store, or tap the link. The app is free to install with a 14-day trial.
Open Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards
Tap Add New Keyboard… at the bottom of the Keyboards list. Find AiType in the third-party keyboards section and tap it.
Enable Full Access
Back in the Keyboards list, tap AiType, then toggle Allow Full Access on. Full Access is required for the keyboard to connect to AiType's AI backend for dictation and reply features. Review AiType's privacy policy and data controls before enabling it.
Switch to AiType in a supported text field
Open a supported app with a text field, such as Messages, WhatsApp, or Mail. Tap the field to show the keyboard, then hold the 🌐 globe key and select AiType from the list.
Sign in to unlock AI features
Tap the AiType icon in the keyboard toolbar and sign in with your account (or create one). Your 14-day trial activates automatically — no credit card needed.
Try dictation: tap Mic, speak, then tap Stop
Tap the microphone icon in the AiType keyboard, speak naturally, then tap the red Stop button. In supported apps and text fields, AiType typically completes transcription and cleanup in about 250 ms; timing varies. Review before sending.

Why does AiType need Full Access?
Full Access lets a third-party keyboard make network requests, which is how AiType connects to its AI backend for dictation and Reply features. Review the privacy policy and available data controls before enabling it.
Can I use AiType as my only keyboard?
AiType includes keyboard features such as QWERTY layout, autocorrect, emoji, and numbers/symbols. Feature and language availability vary by app version and device, so check the current keyboard options. iOS may use the Apple keyboard for Face ID or passcode entry because third-party keyboards are blocked in secure fields.
Which apps does it work in?
Compatibility varies. AiType works in supported apps and standard iOS text fields; some apps and secure fields block third-party keyboards. Test the apps you use.
What if I want to switch back to the Apple keyboard temporarily?
Hold the 🌐 key and select the default Apple keyboard. Or tap the globe key once to cycle through your installed keyboards.
